Sarah Couture


Sarah Couture is a collaborative and strategic compliance professional that brings clients decades of experience. Prior to her compliance career, Sarah held both frontline nursing and clinical management roles in a variety of healthcare settings. She has since worked with scores of healthcare provider organizations to assess, develop and implement best in class compliance programs. Her deep expertise includes years of work on:

  • Compliance program effectiveness assessments
  • Compliance risk assessments
  • Enterprise risk management
  • Compliance program development in large and small organizations
  • Audits
  • Investigations
  • Work as a Board Expert or Independent Review Organization with multiple organizations under government integrity agreements

Sarah also has experience in privacy compliance and research compliance program assessment and development, and deep expertise in clinical research billing.

Sarah is a nationally recognized compliance thought leader and regularly presents and is published regarding timely compliance topics. She enjoys teaching and is faculty for the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) Compliance Essentials Workshops and HCCA Research Compliance Academies. Sarah is also a compliance mentoring advocate and regularly interacts with compliance students through internships. A member of Business Ethics Indiana, Sarah is involved in the local compliance community and as an annual volunteer for the IAPP Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. She also serves at her local church and volunteers for a week each summer as a camp nurse.

With both in-house compliance and consulting experience, as well as a relational focus to her work, she brings a well-rounded and pragmatic approach to compliance strategy, program development, and pursuit of effectiveness. She works closely with each client to develop and deliver tailored program solutions.
